The 6th edition special focuses on health care applications and on the wide range of neuromorphic and brain-based monitoring areas, deeply venturing both in neuro-inspired electronics, including neural wireless sensor networks architecture, and software design for neural-network modeling. In this frame, several technological challenges are still waiting to be overcome. The necessity of formal neural-network models, ultra-low-power solutions, low-noise achievements, real-time signal processing, big data management, energy harvesting are just few of the countless strict requirements in this fields under increasingly exploration. The impact of these innovations on the society is staggering considering the wide range of potential applications.
