Recent advances on multimedia streaming and delivery are enabling a plethora of new services. We observe a shift from the more passive model of consuming multimedia to the more interactive, mobile, and closer tight to social activities. The arrival of cloud computing and social networks has enabled novel paradigms for media sharing and interactivity. The workshop session solicits original and innovative technical papers that focus on hot topics and aspects of multimedia communication systems.
