Building flexible, accurate multimedia analysis and retrieval systems requires massive amounts of annotated data as ground truth input. The MMCOMMONS workshop will kick off the development of a research community focused on annotation of large-scale datasets such as YFCC100M. The workshop intends to lay the groundwork for future data challenges and new benchmarking tasks requiring millions of annotations, and to discuss priorities and plans for annotation and distribution based on community needs and interests. The workshop solicits papers on diverse topics ranging from annotating and analyzing large multimedia corpora to leveraging cloud computing for processing, storing and accessing corpus data.
